"…Our hair is perfect / while were all getting shit wrecked / It’s automatic, / honey, but we got no money! / Daddy I’m so sorry, I’m so s-s-sorry, yeah. / We just like to party, like to p-p-party, yeah. / Bang bang! / We’re beautiful and dirty rich!"
Cos’ goddammit it isn’t more truthful than that and she’s got the balls to say it. -faun
"Run, run her kiss is a vampire grin. / The moon lights away while she’s howlin’ at him. / She looks good, but her boyfriend says she’s a tramp / She’s a tramp, she’s a vamp, / but she still does her dance. / She’s a tramp, she’s a vamp, / but she still kills the dance!"
"The Fame Monster" album is the extended ep of "The Fame" which shows the concept of different little "Monsters" out there and "Dance in the Dark" is about a girl who is afraid / ashamed to be seen during sex so she likes to "Dance in the dark" and it’s very remnant of how an ex made me feel and it reminds me how to feel good about my situation now because my guy doesn’t make me feel like "a tramp". -faun
"Boy, we’ve had a real good time / and I wish you the best on your way, / I didn’t mean to hurt you, / I never thought we’d fall out of place… / …Not that I don’t care about you / It’s just that things got so compliqué. / I met somebody cute and funny, / we got each other and that’s funny…"
Dear ex, I hope you’re well and “I wish you the best on your way”, but I’m happy now with my new life and new man and there’s “Nothing else I can say.” -faun
"Just dance! / Gonna be okay, / da da doo-doo-mmm / Just dance! / Spin that record babe! / da da doo-doo-mmm"
Because, hell. It’s “gonna be okay!” It really, really is. -faun
"…He ate my heart, he ate my heart, / instead he’s a monster in my bed. / I wanna ‘just dance’, but he took me home instead. / Uh oh! There was a monster in my bed / We French kissed on a subway train. / He tore my clothes right off. / He ate my heart then he ate my brain! / That boy is a monster…"
It’s unfortunate, but I think it’s necessary to learn from the experiences we have to go through with the “Monsters” in our life to really appreciate the lives we’ll eventually have with our ‘Angels’ :) -faun
"I’m your biggest fan, I’ll follow you until you love me. / Papa-paparazzi. / Baby, there’s no other superstar, you know that I’ll be / your papa-paparazzi. / Promise I’ll be kind, / but I won’t stop until that boy is mine. / Baby, you’ll be famous, chase you down until you love me / Papa-paparazzi."
Dedicated love, man. That obsession can be liberating or imprisoning. Boy am I glad I got my “superstar”! -faun
"Can’t read my, can’t read my / No he can’t read my poker face / (She’s got to love nobody)"
I’d like to point out two things. First, in the acoustic version she sings “He’s got me like nobody” and in the second time around “She’s got me like nobody.” I thought it was very interesting, considering my second point. The lyrics earlier in the song, “Russian roulette is not the same without a gun”, have been interpreted to mean, in a sense, playing “Russian roulette” with her sexuality (In this particular individuals interpretation, meaning that she was neither straight nor gay, simply open). I thought it was a very good interpretation and I really adore that Gaga is brave enough not only to embrace sexuality with open arms, but to speak honestly about her lifestyle, desires, lusts and experiences (things that we all feel or can at least relate to) despite societies obvious distaste for liberal expressions of emotions and opinions. /Rant -faun
"Happy in the club with a bottle of red wine, / stars in our eyes ‘cause we’re having a good time / Eh-eh, eh-eh, so happy I could die / I’ll be your best friend, yeah, I’ll love you forever, / up in the clouds, we’ll be higher than ever / Eh-eh, eh-eh, so happy I could die / and it’s alright"
Seriously some of her stuff is so fucking feel good, and this is DEFINITELY one of those songs.
"And after all the drinks and bars that we’ve been to, / would you give it all up? Could I give it all up for you? / And after all the boys and the girls that we’ve been through, / would you give it all up? Could you give it all up if I promise boy to you, / that I’ll never talk again… / And I’ll never love again… / I’ll never write a song, won’t even sing along / I’ll never love again! / So speechless… / You left me speechless, so speechless…"
And this is the song that inspired me to leave my abusive ex. So yes, if I do say so myself, it has touched me. Besides being a beautiful song, it is very deep. So many people see Gaga as this “Pop Icon”, but never realize how much heart she has. Although this song inspired me to leave a bad situation, Gaga wrote this for her father as a plea that he undergo a surgery he needed to live. If that isn’t deep, you don’t have a heart. Also, fuck you. -faun
"Rah, rah, ah, ah, ah / Roma, roma, ma / Gaga, ooh, la, la / Want your bad romance."
Because as soon as that first syllable leaves her mouth, you know the next 4 minutes and 52 seconds are just gonna be fucking awesome. END OF STORY. -faun
